Family/Spousal Visa
A Canadian citizen or permanent resident can sponsor their immediate family members or spous if they fulfill following conditions:
- Must be18 years of age or older.
- Must be Canadian citizen, permanent resident or registered Indian.
- Sign an undertaking promising to provide for the basic requirements of the sponsored person(s).
- Sign an agreement with the sponsored person.
- Meet the LICO for the past 12 months, except to sponsor a dependent child who has no dependent child, an adopted person under 18 years; or a spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner with no dependent child or with dependent child who has no dependent child.
In case of PGP program, meet the LICO + 30%for 3 previous taxation years. Only Revenue Canada proof is accepted.
Sponsorship can be done for Father; mother; grandparents; sister/brother, half-sister/half-brother, nephew/niece, grandchild (under 18 years, orphan, not married or in common-law); child to adopt (under 18 years, psychological condition report, cannot later sponsor biological parents, not married or common-law,); dependent child (not married or in common-law, under 22-year-old unless medically or physically dependent); spouse.
